Ferrari recalled 2016-18 GTC4 Lusso and Lusso T, amid door-lock issue

The door-lock concern made Ferrari recall 2016-18 GTC4 Lusso and Lusso T. As reported, the present layout of the Bowden cable installed within the passenger and driver doors creates tension on the door lock and may lead the cable retainer to shatter, preventing the doors from being opened from the outside.

The automaker has issued a list of total 54 cars (sold between 11 November 2016 - 12 October 2018) which may face this critical situation.

The officials further explained the real situation as an emergency, where the occupants may not be able to get out of the car, which increases the chances of injury. The vehicle owners of the affected cars can contact Ferrari Australasia or nearby local Ferrari dealership to organize a free of charge replacement of the Bowden cables and door locks.

GTC4 Lusso has 6.3-litre petrol engine that pumps out 689 PS of power and 697 Nm of torque. The GTC4 Lusso T, on the other hand, gets a 3.9-litre V8 engine that puts out 610 PS of power and 760 Nm of torque. It comes mated to the same 7-speed dual-clutch unit as the GTC4Lusso. The setup is enough for the car to complete the 0-100 kmph sprint in 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 320 kmph.

Ferrari has produced some worth-dying-for cars over its 70 years of existence. GTC4 Lusso and GTC4 Lusso T are considered as one of the best efforts of the company till date.
