Citroen to enter the Australian market with C5 Aircross
The French automobile manufacturer, Citroen has taken a step to enter the Australian mid-size SUV market with the C5 Aircross. It will hit showrooms this month. The car is available in two different versions, C5 Aircross Feel, and C5 Aircross Shine.
Both the models are equipped with an 8.0-inch infotainment touch screen display having the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto options. There is also built-in navigation and digital radio. Also, there is a 12.3-inch widescreen instrument display placed behind the steering wheel. Other features include dusk-sensing headlights, Dual-zone air-conditioning (with air vents to back seats), a sensor key with push-button start and rain-sensing wipers.
Speaking of the oily bits, the Citroen C5 Aircross comes with a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, which is capable of churning out 162 hp along with a peak torque of 240 Nm. The power is sent to the wheels via a conventional six-speed automatic transmission. The engine returns around 12.65 kmpl of mileage.
All the Citroen C5 Aircross models get speed sign recognition, lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot monitoring, rear-view camera, tyre pressure monitors, front and rear parking sensors. The car also comes with the autonomous emergency braking up to 85 kmph. All these quality safety features help it to get a five-star rating.
The C5 Aircross Feel comes with a price tag of $39,990, while the C5 Aircross Shine is priced at $43,990. The on-road costs are excluded for both the prices. The cars get five-year or unlimited-kilometre warranty coverage along with five years of roadside assistance.
To get the metallic paint one has to pay around $690, while the pearl paint costs $1050. The car is available in seven colour options, while the European version has 30 combinations.
