Check out the world’s first all-terrain supercar, Laffite G-Tec X-Road
Laffite Supercars revealed an odd-looking vehicle labelled as the world’s first street-legal all-terrain car called the Laffite G-Tec X-Road. The car is a result of a collaboration between Laffite Supercars and G-Tec.
The G-Tec is a company headed by racing engineer Philippe Gautheron and has contributed majorly towards the engineering of rolling chassis developed using chromium-molybdenum steel.
Laffite is an American based automobile brand which specialises in auto design, concept cars, and road-ready limited editions. The G-Tec X-Road is a limited run car, available to 30 units.
The supercar is powered by a GM LS3 6.2-litre V8 engine which generates a maximum power of 720 hp. The rear-wheel-drive comes in two transmission options, either a six-speed or an optional five-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shifters. The V8 engine produces a maximum output of 230 km per hour.
The other notable features of the car include a luxurious interior, designed with leather, carbon fibre, an extensive touchscreen infotainment system and metal switchgear. The comfort of the vehicle is handled by 17-inch suspension which is paired to BF Goodrich off-road tires for enhanced handling and convenience in all forms of terrain.
Makers of the all-terrain supercar describe the X-Road as, “the first all-terrain street-legal supercar that delivers immense power, exceptional performance, and a luxurious appeal, all in one package.”
Interestingly, the car stands at almost half the weight of SUVs, weighing a total of 1,300 kg. With dimensions measuring at 4.2m in length, 2.1m in width, and 1.5m in height, the Laffite G-Tec X-Road offers a power-to-weight ratio of 1.85 kg/hp.
The G-Tec X-Road price starts at $465,000 (AUD 677,700). However, the automaker confirms an electric version trim of the X-Road, increasing the price to $545,000 (AUD$794,400). Each car comes with a 2-year/10,000 km warranty; deliveries of the vehicle are set to begin at the end of 2020.
