Audi teases the new RS6 ahead of its debut
The next-generation Audi RS6 has been teased just ahead of its full debut, which is supposed to happen next month. It will be displayed at the Frankfurt motor show. It is expected to have the usage of the electrification that will help to reduce the fuel use and emissions but also provide a power boost.
It is likely to have a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, which is capable of churning out a maximum power of 600 hp. However, if rumours are to be believed, the engine will be a part of the mild-hybrid system. It will boost the power output to 700 hp.
As for the transmission, the car will use the quicker-shifting dual-clutch unit, rather than having the 'Tiptronic' eight-speed torque converter automatic. It is similar to the one which is used in the new Bentley Continental GT.
With the deletion of the standard electronic speed limiter, the car can hit a maximum speed of 300 kmph. Starting from stationary, the vehicle can achieve triple figures under 3.5 seconds. It uses the lighter MLB Evo underpinnings and the Quattro all-wheel drive.
The all-new RS6 is based on the A6 Avant, and it offers a plethora of driver's assistance and infotainment technologies, which are not provided in the previous-gen car. This includes Audi's new dual-screen infotainment setup and semi-autonomous driving abilities.
Just like the other RS models, the RS6 should be fitted with a broader and more aggressive body kit. Also, the wheels will be massive and will get covered by the grippy performance tyres.
The all-new RS6 will be one of the six new RS models, which are scheduled to be revealed in this year. The other cars are a facelifted RS4 Avant, RS7 Sportback, the all-new RS Q3, the all-new RS Q8 and RS Q3 Sportback.
