2020 Volkswagen Amarok V6 arrives at Australian showrooms

Volkswagen has introduced the Amarok TDV6 with manual transmission. It is set to arrive in Australia next month as Volkswagen Amarok V6 Core TDV6 Enduro pack with a price tag of $48,990. The price tag might look steep but it also includes an accessory starter pack worth $1200. The starter pack contains a black bonnet deflector, black side decals, and a sports bar.

The Volkswagen Amarok TDV6 manual comes with the part-time 4WD system that provides a lower range as compared to the permanent 4WD equipped with the automatic transmission. The diesel V6 under the bonnet makes about 180 kW with the periodic over-boost function and about 165 kW without the over-boost. The manual transmission of the vehicle provides a wider peak torque range of about 1250-3000 rpm yet bringing the maximum torque down to 500 Nm.

The V6 Amarok comes along with 17-inch ‘Korama’ alloys wheels and retains a towing capacity of 3.5-tonne. The vehicle has the new rubber floor which covers the cabin and gives the interior a more classy feel. Other features of the V6 Amarok include adjustable and heated door mirrors, heated front seats, manually adjustable front seats, bi-xenon headlamps, front foglights, air conditioning, electric windows along with the automatic post-collision braking system, etc.

It also brings ease of parking for the driver with the park distance control and rear sensors along with the rearview camera. Composition media measuring up to 6.33 inch along with the DAB radio, USB connectivity and the app connect features enable the users to connect their phones via apps like Apple Carplay, and Android Auto and promise a wholesome experience.

The expensive price tag brings the Amarok Core V6 into competition against the likes of Ford Ranger XL, Toyota Hilux SR, Nissan Navara ST, and Mitsubishi Triton.
