2020 Ssangyong Korando petrol-powered variants launched

Ssangyong has launched the petrol-powered variants of the Korando with a starting price $6,000 lower than the previously available entry-level diesel model. With an extensive list of features, superb built-quality and now at cheaper rates, the petrol-powered Korando can’t be ignored while your next car shopping.

Ssangyong Korado

The Korando is now available in three petrol variants, the EX, the ELX and the Ultimate. The Korando petrol is powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine capable of pumping out a max power of 163 PS and a peak torque of 280 Nm, mated to either an Aisin 6-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The Korando EX, only model with a manual transmission, comes with features like cruise control, reversing camera, auto headlights, rain-sensing wipers, 17-inch alloys, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a 3.5-inch LCD instrument cluster.

Safety equipment on the EX model includes lane departure warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assist and front collision warning. For a manual EX drive-away price is $26,990 and for the auto transmission, it is $28,990.

The Korando ELX petrol features rear cross-traffic alert, leather steering wheel, front and rear parking sensors, smart key entry and blind-spot monitoring. Unlike the EX, the ELX comes with 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and LED daytime running lights. The drive-away price for ELX petrol has been set to $30,990.

Next up is the Korando Ultimate, which is the most luxurious amongst all, comes with features like adaptive cruise control, heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, heated front and rear leather seats, tyre-pressure monitoring system and power sunroof and tailgate. Additionally, it gets a larger 10.25-inch LCD instrument cluster, 19-inch diamond-cut alloys, chrome grille and an electric park brake. It is priced at $36,990 drive-away.

All the models come with the brand’s 777 Customer Care Package, 7-year roadside assistance, 7-year unlimited Km warranty and a 7-year capped-price servicing for the fleet and private customers. The Ultimate models are available to buy while the EX models will hit the showrooms in early 2020.
