2020 Nissan Sentra official preview on November 19

2020 Nissan Sentra official preview on November 19

A few months back, Nissan unleashed the next-gen Sylphy, which is the Chinese version of the firm’s Sentra sedan. And now the firm is all set to roll out the model in the United States on November 19. The preview will occur at an event before the Los Angeles Auto Show. Not only this, but the firm will also reveal the 2020 Nissan Sentra specs at the same time.

Nissan showcased new Sylphy at the Shanghai Motor Show in China which delivers a close idea about the eighth-gen Sentra looks. Indeed, the small sedan got several styling appointments as compared to the existing model. Though, the same styling cues can be seen on the new Altima and Versa.

If we talk about the exterior changes broadly, the new Sentra is longer, wider as well as lower. The appearance is more elegant and graceful, which seems similar to the brand’s other sedans like the Altima and Maxima. In the front, you can see the "floating" C-pillar effect which is now common in Nissan design language. The rear and front fascia are also enhanced and look sharper. The model also looks impressive inside the cabin. It features a dashboard, center screen, a large gauge cluster, three circular air-vents, and diamond-quilted seats.

About the engine specs, it is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder internal combustion engine in place of the ongoing 1.8-litre naturally-aspirated unit. The new engine configuration will be capable to churn out more power i.e., 149 PS and 196 Nm of peak torque as compared to the 1.8-litre naturally-aspirated motor that produces 124 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 169 Nm. Power will be delivered via continuously variable transmission as there would be no manual gearbox. Besides this, a more powerful turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four can also be offered, having the power generation capacity of 188 PS.

The model is expected to hit the US market by the end of 2019 or in early 2020, but nothing is known about the arrival in Australia. So stay tuned to Zigwheels Australia for further updates on this.
