2020 Chevrolet Silverado to take on Ram 1500 in March
The Ram 1500 is one of the best-selling pickup trucks in the Australian market. So, to take on the popular vehicle, Chevrolet will be bringing the Silverado here by March 2020. HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) is currently preparing the launch of the pickup.
Holden Special Vehicles has put together a lot of goodness to stitch a car that is better than the Ram 1500 in every department. It is powered by a 6.2-litre, V8 petrol engine that makes 420 hp of peak power and a whopping 624 Nm of highest torque. The produced power is sent down to all the wheels via a 10-speed automatic gearbox.
These power figures are higher than that of the Ram 1500. However, when it comes to the towing capacity, HSV has managed to equal the braked-towing capacity of the rival of 4,500 kilograms, but of course, with the right equipment.
The Chevy Silverado comes with a dual-cab model. The cabin has a lot of features to impress the buyers, some of which are ventilated and heated front seats, AC vents for the rear row, leather upholstery and a sunroof. There is also a massive 15-inch infotainment display, which is the biggest any pickup truck maker offers in Australia.
Other additions to the upcoming Silverado include an Advanced Trailering Package. This package includes a reverse camera, trailer brake control, and theft alert. Besides just that, HSV is also offering quite a lot of add-ons locally. The add-ons are a unique exhaust, HSV-tuned suspension, and a performance air-box.
The automaker has not revealed the pricing of the new Silverado yet, though we can expect it to be around $100,000. If the pricing is in this range, it would be at par with the range-topping Ram 1500.
