2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Upland special edition priced at $61,450
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has recently added one more special edition Jeep Grand Cherokee Upland in the current series editions of the SUV which include Blackhawk, 70th Anniversary, 75th Anniversary, Jet, Night Eagle, S-Limited, S-Overland and more. The upland version based on the Laredo 4x4 diesel is priced at $61,450 before on-road costs i.e. an extra $3,500, the automaker claims that this extra cost brings the benefits of $7,000 value for the buyers.
For the extra expenditure, the customers will get an 8.4-inch touchscreen of upper-spec Grand Cherokees rather than Laredo’s 7.0-inch unit, and also the blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Other than this, several visual changes have been done, which includes distinct 20-inch black alloy wheels in Goodyear All-Terrain Wrangler tyres, plus gloss-black finishes on the grille, badges, roof rails, mirrors, mouldings, and fog- and taillight surrounds. Also, the company logo is highlighted in Desert Sky blue.
Inside the cabin, things are not much different from Laredo, few alterations include the addition of Desert Sky blue accent stitching on the steering wheel, console, armrests, and also on the bigger touch screen, along with black cloth cushioned seats. The available color shades of the vehicle are – Bright White and Diamond Black. Other standard equipment feature Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, eight-way power and heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, and leather covering on the steering wheel. The single-pane sunroof is the only provided option.
It is equipped with a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel producing 250 PS of power and 570 Nm of torque through an eight-speed automatic transmission. All 44 examples of the version featuring a two-speed transfer case and selectable high- and low-range gearing will also come standard with Jeep’s Quadra-Trac II 4x4 system. In contrast, the Grand Cherokee Laredo comes with the Pentastar 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine and rear-wheel-drive which is currently priced at $47,950.
The release date of Jeep Grand Cherokee Upland is yet to be announced by the company but a year-long wait is expected.
