2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit released

Jeep Australia revealed another variant of the Grand Cherokee, called Summit. The new version is designed with a vision to keep up the model in line with other SUV competitors in the market.

The year to date sales of Grand Cherokee is 2037 units which show the downfall of 30.2 percent in comparison to the previous year. Before this, the firm has already released other variants of the model including Upland, Night Eagle, S-Limited, and S-Overland to attract the customers. 

Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Front

The 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit priced at $84,450 exclusive on-road costs, which is the highest among all the variants launched recently. According to the firm, Summit directly competes with the new Volkswagen Touareg.

The drivetrain gets a 3.0-litre EcoDiesel engine mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission producing 250 PS of power and 570 Nm of torque, 

The Cherokee Summit spec-sheet features softer 'NaturaPlus' leather seats, a leather instrument binnacle and central armrest, a suede-style headliner, and illuminated door sill plates.

Other standard equipment includes a 19-speaker audio system, bi-xenon headlights, active noise cancellation, eight-way electric front seats, ventilated front seats, and remote engine start and heated seats front and rear.

The specs of the Overland variant mainly comprise of a reversing camera, forward collision warning and autonomous emergency braking, parking sensors, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, parking assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control.

Grand Cherokee Summit also offers different styling packages to buyers. Platinum Package includes a chrome grille, dual pane-sunroof, lower bumper, window trim, side sills, rear step and exterior badging. While 'Signature Leather-Wrapped Interior Package includes quilted leather seats, and leather door trims. A rear-seat entertainment system with BluRay and DVD player is also offered.
