2016-18 Jaguar XE recalled, concern CO2 emissions
JLR Australia recently issued a recall notice for the 2016-18 XE Sedan due to concerns regarding the emissions standards of the vehicle. The company officials explained the defect as, "During testing, there was greater than expected variation in CO2 emissions between vehicles,"
A VIN list of a total 345 vehicles (available for sale between 31 August 2015 - 20 April 2018) is provided by the automaker which may get affected by the aforementioned defect.
Earlier in May, a similar notice was issued for the 2016-17 model year Land Rover Discovery Sport, Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Velar with 2.0-litre petrol engines for deviations in actual emissions.
Before this, an announcement was made by the automaker regarding the recall of 44,000 vehicles in the UK for the same concern, where CO2 emissions may not accord with the standard specifications. A total of 1734 vehicles are affected which include 961 Land Rovers and 773 Jaguars.
The owners of the affected cars will get a notice from JLR requesting them to bring the vehicle to an authorised repairer for an ECU software update, oil change, and engine belt replacement. For more information, consumers can call on 1300 787 803. Further, the original notice provided by the company can also be checked.
Jaguar XE is powered by 3.0-litre supercharged V6 petrol engine, mated to a standard ZF eight-speed automatic transmission that produces 339 PS of power and 450 Nm of torque. It is based on an all-new aluminum-intensive rear-wheel-drive platform and shielded in a carefully crafted body, and the design is anchored by excellent proportions, LED lighting and an athletic posture.
