When it comes to class, Polo remains unquestionable. The upper and lower dash sections have a soft-touch surface. Volkswagen has maintained the fit and quality of the vinyl that easily is better than most of its blue-collar competitors.

Polo’s cockpit is a visual treat with a myriad of features. Starting with a fully high-tech instrument cluster comprising of the usual dials for several functionalities, all of them sit fit within the 8.0-inch touchscreen. 

The seats have stitched leather covers and so is the flat-bottom steering wheel. Polo has power windows that instantly start working with only a brief touch. Irrespective of the fact that the rear-seat legroom is a bit cramped, there are other different plus points like a big cubby and a glove box to keep more things. Door bins are present on all doors that can hold larger water bottles. The boot has also grown 20% larger, making the backspace a bit bigger than the previous version. In simple words, the 351 litres boot can be expanded to 1125 litres (after folding seats) in case additional luggage requires to be carried.

Volkswagen has yet again shown its mettle with an extraordinary looking exterior body.  Spotting a cooler honeycomb grill on a glossier metallic body, this car oozes style statement. Accompanied with a new front bumper, front fog lamps, dual-beam headlamps and a stylish opening lever highlighting its brand logo, Volkswagen is definitely giving a tough competition to its competitors over looks. 

An excellent work of body colour outside rear view mirrors, Polo’s side mirrors come with an electronic folding option. An amazing addition in this model has been in the form of a rear window washer and wiper. This offers extra maintenance and even considered an additional safety aspect during heavy downpours. 

Although this car model lacks the alloy wheels, the look seems to be quite okay due to the 185/65R15 rubber wheel cover.

Riding the Volkswagen Polo is quite enjoyable as it offers a multitude of facilities. For a comfortable and luxurious ride, this car offers coil spring shock absorbers for a jolt-free, smooth ride even on uneven roads. The in-built Driver Fatigue System also ensures a comfier seat for relaxed long rides.

Volkswagen Polo’s engine capacity is smaller than its other similar models available in the market. The Polo Trendline gets the base engine as a 1-litre TSI engine, which can make a maximum power of 95 horsepower. 

With 7-speed DSG transmission, the engine’s take-up is quite slow before the turbo mode spools up. This basically delays the torque and power to kick in. Polo’s maximum torque from the turbo engine also comes late with 175 Nm at 2000 rpm. 

Aside from these minuscule factors, Polo revs up its standard with economic fuel economy. It promises to deliver a mileage of 20.8 kmpl with full acceleration with 10.8 seconds. 

On the other hand, the Comfortline and Style both come with a 1-litre gasoline engine too, while the difference is the power output. It is tuned to deliver a maximum power of 114 hp along with a peak torque of 200 Nm.

The top-of-the-line variant is the GTI, which has a 2-litre TSI mill. It pumps out a maximum power of 197 hp, while the peak torque sticks at 320 Nm.

The standard safety aspect in this car is displayed via an autonomous emergency braking system. 

Safety wise, Polo has tyre pressure monitoring and city speed AEB option. The other recommended safety features of the Polo are like a crash sensor, vehicle stability control system, child safety locks, and airbags on both front and rear seats.

The Volkswagen Polo displays a stronger performance even from the three-cylinder turbo engine. Just flicking the gear level side to side in place of using the steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, it is a star on the road. It is no doubt a better option and showcases its worth during heavy traffic.
