2020 Renault Trafic automatic pricing and specs
Earlier this year, Renault showcased the automatic version of its high-selling Traffic van in Europe. And as expected the model is available for sale now. The brand ditched the three-pedal setup and has taken six-speed EDC from Megane RS coupled with a strong 125 kW 2.0L diesel engine.
Anouk Poelmann, Managing Director of Renault Australia said, “[Trafic> has been the top-selling manual transmission mid-size van and one of the best-selling vans in the category altogether. With the arrival of a new, more powerful engine combined with the new EDC transmission, the Trafic will broaden its appeal in the market.”
The ongoing Renault Trafic variants powered by a 1.6-litre turbo-diesel engine producing 85 kW of power and 300 Nm of torque and 103 kW of torque and 340 Nm of torque will remain available with the same six-speed manual transmission. While the automatic version is powered by a Euro-6 certified 2.0-litre diesel mill delivering 125 kW of power at 3500 rpm and 380 Nm of torque at 1500 rpm. Drive is sent to the front wheels. The fuel economy is marked at 13.69 kmpl and peak towing capacity stands at 1630 kg i.e 370 kg less than 103 kW manual trim.
Cosmetically, the new Renault Trafic comes with a new bolder grille, new pair of C-shaped LED Daytime running lights and new LED headlights. Inside the cabin, you can see an updated dash, new seat designs, and 500-lumen LEDs cargo area lighting. In terms of safety, all trims are now equipped with six airbags, but still not have advanced safety features like autonomous emergency braking, active cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring, offered in Transit Custom and Toyota Hiace.
If we talk about the updates of Traffic Pro and Premium variants, the former gets an optional Trade Pack worth $1600 incorporating a smartphone cradle, wide view mirror, a wooden floor, key with single door opening, full-height wall lining, heavy-duty battery, LED ceiling lights, and spare wheel basket. While the Premium models come with a Business Pack offer which includes automatic air conditioning, tinted windows, hands-free entry card, powered seats, and 17-inch alloys.
