2020 BMW X5 M and X6 M Competition specs revealed, priced from $209,900
The BMW fanboys who are eagerly waiting for the BMW X5 M and X6 M can get their hands on the SUVs (and also the Competition form) this May. The price of the X5 M would start at $209,900, while the X6 M $213,900. Both the prices stack up before road costs being added.
Both the BMW X5 M and X6 M get a multi-mode suspension. This means the dampers and the firmness of the shockers are tuned based on the driving mode. Even the speed-sensing steering also depends on the driving mode. The front suspension is done over double-wishbone while the rear is forged up in a 5-link design. The chassis has been tested for quality and rigidity.
Inside the cabin, there are some pretty amazing features stacked up for optimum occupants’ comfort. There is a head-up display for the infotainment system that gets the Apple CarPlay connectivity. The car also gets 4-zone automatic climate control and ambient lighting. The seats are done in premium quality Merino leather upholstery, while the instrument panel is done in Walknappa leather. The driver gets an electric seat adjustment with lumbar support.
Both the BMW X5 M and X6 M gets the same engine under the hood. The 4.4-litre, V8, TwinPower turbocharged engine is quite similar to the bigger one seen on the M5 and M8 Competition models. This engine makes 625 PS of maximum power and 760 Nm of peak torque. The power is channelled to the wheels via an 8-speed M Steptronic auto gearbox.
As for the safety and assistance features, the two SUVs pack a good number of features as standard. To start with, there is parking and reverse assistance, tyre-pressure monitoring, stability control via the driving modes, etc.
BMW presently sells both the X5 and X6 in the Australian market, along with the X1, X2, X3, and X4.
