2020 BMW M340i xDrive Touring goes on sale in Europe

Following its sedan sibling, the 2020 BMW M340i xDrive Touring is now up for grabs in the European continent. Just like the sedan, the M Performance wagon model also gets its juices from the same 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six. The power figures read 374 hp of maximum power at 5500 to 6500 rpm and a peak torque of 500 Nm at 1850 to 5000 revs. It then a performance-tuned xDrive all-wheel-drive system alongside an eight-speed 'Steptronic' automatic transmission that takes care of the power delivery duties. BMW claims that the 2020 M340i xDrive Touring can return a mileage of 13.15 kmpl to 13.88 kmpl.

Courtesy of the ample power, the 2020 BMW M340i xDrive Touring can do a 0 to 100 kmph run in 4.5 seconds. While this timing is also great, it falls short of the sedan sibling by a marginal 0.1 seconds. The best bit of today's news is, however, the "First Edition" models of both the 2020 BMW M340i xDrive sedan and wagon offerings that will go on sale in November 2019. Moreover, only 340 units each of the sedan and wagon will be produced and sold by the German automobile manufacturer.

The 2020 BMW M340i xDrive First Editions models will also feature the high-gloss "Shadowline" exterior design package, "M340i First Edition 1/340" badge, large 19-inch M light-alloy wheels, Frozen Grey metallic finish, "Merino" full leather upholstery in Fjord Blue/Silverstone, M seat belts, high-gloss aluminium weave cabin ornamentation, and a BMW Individual leather instrument board. Apart from Europe, the likes of Italy, Spain, Switzerland, New Zealand, the Netherlands, South Korea, the Middle East, Scandinavia, Belgium, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, and Canada will also get the 2020 BMW M340i xDrive First Edition models.

While we are certainly not getting the wagon here anytime soon, do not expect the First Edition of the sedan to land on the OZ shores either as there are "no plans to introduce the First Edition of that car here,'' said Nick Raman, who is BMW's local product communications manager.
