2020 Alpina B3 sedan coming to Australia next year

Alpina Australia has confirmed the arrival of the new B3 sedan in the Australian market during the second half of 2020. The model will be joining its already announced sibling B3 Touring wagon. The all-new B3 sedan is one of the high-performance AWD midsize sedans which ensures safety and optimum stability on the roads.

It is powered by the same S58 3.0-litre straight-six engine, which you can find in the upcoming M3, and ongoing X3 M and X4 M models. The powertrain equipped with unique turbos, cooling systems, and exhaust generates 462 PS of power between 5000 and 7000 rpm, and 700 Nm of torque between 3000 and 4250 rpm. It is coupled with an updated eight-speed automatic transmission and an electronically-controlled limited-slip differential. The firm claims the run of 0-100 kmph in 3.8 seconds, which is 1 second less than the wagon model. And, top speed is mentioned as 300 kmph.

Besides the engine's specifications, the other differences between B3 sedan and standard 3 Series include stiffer chassis, bespoke transmission tune, and retuned suspension elements. Moreover, 19 or 20 inches wheels will be wrapped in Pirelli P Zero rubber.

Speaking of the B3 cabin specs, it gets all leather finishing from the hand-stitched steering wheel to complete customisable seating. The tech appointments include an updated digital instrument cluster, voice recognition, and navigation system.

Phil Jeffery, national sales manager of Alpina Australia said, “We are proud to confirm Australian availability for both the B3 sedan and touring variants. The new B3 sedan now gives our customers the option of a traditional sports sedan with an incredible mix of performance and luxury that ALPINA is renowned for.”

Both models are expected to hit the markets in the coming year. So stay tuned to Zigwheels Australia for further information regarding the Alpina B3 price and specifications, which will be uncovered closer to the launch date.
