Volkswagen ID. Space Vizzion concept set for debut

Volkswagen is ready for the official preview of its upcoming electric vehicle ID. Space Vizzion at the Los Angeles motor show. The vehicle is based on the Volkswagen’s Modular Electric Drive (MEB) platform and will be unveiled in production form. Though it is expected to come in different versions in North America, China, and Europe around 2021.

During a recent media interview, the carmaker explained the vehicle as a perfect combination of “aerodynamic characteristics of a Gran Turismo with the spaciousness of an SUV”. The vehicle's body style seems apparently logical and highly desirable.

If you remember, the previous ID. Vizzion branded concept was a sedan that was showcased at last year’s Geneva show. The sedan was created for Level 5 autonomous driving and featured insightful interior trims and a traditional dashboard.

About the electric range of the upcoming station wagon, the market expects the 590 km under more rigid WLTP measures as compared to the 550 km range of high-spec ID.3 powered by 77 kWh battery.

Inside the cabin, the new concept previews the modern interior comprises of four captain's chairs with a long center console. There is a digital cockpit with a thin display in front of the driver and a much bigger screen on the center console. The seats are designed with AppleSkin leather made up of partial use of apple juice production residue. 

Though the firm has not revealed the ID. Space Vizzion dimensions but for reference, we can look at the measurements of ID. Vizzion. It was 5164 mm long and 1948 mm wide, which means bigger than the Tesla Model S and almost the same as the Audi A8.

The ID. Space Vizzion official debut is scheduled on November 19 and it may also appear at the Petersen Automotive Museum on the next day.
