Skoda showcased Vision IN Concept ahead of Auto Expo 2020
Skoda has revealed its Vision IN Concept, a sporty concept that previews a brand-new compact SUV. The concept car made its world premiere in India before its official debut at the Auto Expo.
Previously, the car was teased via two official sketches representing the front and the back. The sleek new Skoda Vision IN is said to make its worldwide debut at the Auto Expo 2020, to be held in New Delhi on February 5.
The car resembles Skoda’s plan for India and emerging markets as it gets the MQB A0 IN platform which has been specially developed for the world’s second-most populous country. While the modular platform resembles its underpinnings with Volkswagen, the production version of the Skoda Vision is expected to be launched somewhere around 2021.
The five-seater crossover SUV gets bold visuals at the front-end. The automaker describes the rear of the Vision IN as 'clearly structured' and 'distinctive' due to its special LED tail-light designs.
The exterior of the car sports a similar signature grille from Skoda. The sleek projector headlamps on either side witness for increased night visibility of the vehicle and the bumper of the car gets a chunky look with the presence of massive air-intakes.
Coming to the rear end of the car, the Vision IN gets signature design elements like the multi-layered tailgate and skid plates on the rear bumper.
Inside, the cockpit witnesses an extensive use of orange and black theme which runs along with the cabin without giving it a monotonous appeal. The infotainment system of the Vision IN is handled via a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 9.2-inch touchscreen, placed as a floating unit.
Although there is no information on the drivetrain of the car, it is expected to get a four-cylinder 1.5-litre turbocharged gasoline engine, similar to the Euro-spec Kamiq from where the Skoda Vision IN concept appears to be inspired from.
Lastly, the production vehicle with the MQB A0 IN platform might make its way to the Australian market somewhere around the second half of 2021.
