Skoda reveals details on its Vision IN in new design sketches
Skoda has revealed exterior design features on its upcoming Vision IN concept, to be showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. However, the production of the vehicle is scheduled to commence in 2020-21.
Skoda’s new midsize SUV is set to be based on India-specific MQB A0 IN platform with the concept measuring at 4.26m in length. It has also been revealed that the final unit for the production version of the SUV will have a wheelbase measuring 2,651mm. The automaker aims at providing ample space for rear-seat occupants, making their offering, a spacious one.
As per the sketches that were revealed, Vision IN sports a bold front fascia, featuring a typical rib-like grille, as seen in most of the offerings by Skoda. The concept sketch features split headlights with the upper units integrating into the grille. The front end of the apron gets large side air intakes and the front spoiler is made from aluminium. The front spoiler of the vehicle adds to the overall muscularity of the vehicle.
The concept car shall be powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine and there might be another variant as well with a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol unit. Although the probability of a diesel mill is low.
Previously, Skoda revealed the interior sketch of its Vision IN in December 2019. It confirmed inclusion of multiple elements that came as standard across all the present generation models of Skoda. The centre of the car is occupied by a large, free-standing touchscreen infotainment system along with a Virtual Cockpit digital instrumentation. Also, the production version of the Vision IN shall be carrying an automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof and rear AC vents, along with drive modes, ambient lighting amongst an exhaustive list of features.
