Skoda hits 1.24 million sales in 2019
Deliveries for the Skoda Auto hit a 1.24 million record for the year 2019. The company faces a drop in the figure due to weaker sales in the Chinese market.
In 2018, the company reported a total sales of 1.25 million. The current sales report for 2019 represents the sales of 1.24 million vehicles, making it lower by 0.9 percent which is mainly due to the Sino-US trade war.
The auto markets in China have been affected massively due to the affected trade relations. Also, in the United States, auto sales have dropped alongside factory activity as well.
In its official report, Skoda mentioned that the deliveries in China have dropped by 17.3 percent while the shipping of cars was up by 5.3 percent globally. The automaker confirms to have witnessed a rise of 9.1 percent (114,700 units) in deliveries between the holiday period of November 5th and December 31st.
Skoda gathered a total of 1,242,800 sales in units for the previous year, making it a record holder for reaching millions in sales, for the sixth year in a row.
As per the delivery trend of the company for 2019, Octavia stands at the top with a one-third contribution with sales being dropped by 363,700 units, down 6.3 percent. However, with its rise in sales over the SUV segment with Kamiq, Kodiaq, and Karoq, the brand witnessed a strong presence of its product over the market.
