Pricing and specification of Mercedes-AMG A35 hatch and sedan goes official
The premium car manufacturer, Mercedes-AMG has revealed the specifications and pricing of the new A35 hatch and sedan, making these the cheapest AMG ever. These will arrive at the local shores, by September and October respectively. The new car will take its place just below the AMG A45. However, the later will arrive five months after to Australia.
The new hatch and sedan come with a more aggressive rear diffuser, AMG grille and body kit, a lip spoiler on the body kit and 19-inch alloy wheels. Inside the car, the Oz spec version has a lot of features including dual-zone climate control, electrically-adjustable front seats, hands-free access to the electrically-operated boot and keyless entry.
Powering the A35 is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which can make a maximum power of 302 hp along with a peak torque of 400 Nm. The engine is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Speaking of the performance, the car can achieve a top speed of 250 kmph. Starting from stationary, it achieves 100 kmph mark in just 4.7 seconds. The Mercedes-AMG A35 uses the brand's 4Matic all-wheel-drive system.
There is also an optional AMG Edition 1 package as well that costs around $6990. It makes the Mercedes-AMG A35 more aggressive. It includes a dynamic AMG aerodynamics package, some unique styling touches including Denim Blue paintwork having gold highlights and a set of performance seats.
The A35 hatchback comes with a price tag of $67,200, while the sedan costs $69,800. The pricing does not include on-road costs. It makes the car's price just $10,000 less than the A45 while comparing to the Audi S3, and the price is $3000 more.
