Mercedes-Benz unveils C300e PHEV and C200 Sports Edition
The C-Class lineup of Mercedes-Benz Australia has added new models on the board, i.e. plug-in hybrid sedan model and a limited-run Sport Edition, to shoot the sales of C300e PHEV, whose showroom price decline from $79,200.
The plug-in hybrid C-Class combines a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 207 hp of power and 350 Nm of peak torque with an electric motor producing 120 hp of power and 400 Nm torque, together producing 315 hp of power and 700 Nm of torque. It claims a 0-100 dash of just 5.4 seconds, with the capability of running up to 52 km on electric power alone using its 13.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Other specific features of the model include the Comand infotainment system, electric refrigerant compressor, high-voltage heater booster, air Body control air suspension, driver Assistance Package, leather upholstery, and keyless go with handsfree boot lid operation.
In addition to C300e, the automaker has also revised entry-level C200 model with a more powerful engine producing extra bits in comparison to the mild-hybrid powertrain originally launched with the facelifted range, the power is increased by 20 hp now stands at 201 hp, the torque is increased by 20 Nm and now stands at 300 Nm. The new engine accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 7.1 seconds, which is 0.6 seconds quicker than earlier.
Standard equipment included in all C-Class models features live Traffic Information integrated into the standard satellite navigation system that provides signals to the driver in the context of traffic congestion or hazards on selected pathways and also suggests alternatives.
Last but not the least, a value focussed C200 Sport Edition (limited) is also added in the range of sedan, wagon, and coupe body styles. The Sports Edition incorporates Distronic adaptive cruise control, a head-up display, panoramic sunroof, heated front seats with memory function. adaptive high-beam assist (sedan only, standard on the coupe), rear privacy glass, 19-inch AMG alloy wheels, and AMG Line exterior package (standard on the coupe). The edition costs $7700 for sedan and wagon models and $7200 for the coupe. The estimated pricing (excluding on-road costs) for all the variants and options are mentioned below.
