Genesis appointed David Lederer as the new boss for Australia
The Australian division of Genesis welcomes David Lederer as the new boss ahead of latest products launch in 2020. Before David, Peter Evans was heading the brand as General Manager till April this year. But after Evan left the post, the Hyundai’s luxury arm division was operating without an official boss in Australia.
If we talk about the veteran industry executive Lederer, he has spent the majority of his career life at BMW and hold experience in numerous departments across the business including product planning, finance, sales, and sales channel development. He has also led the redevelopment of the flagship Sydney showroom of the firm. And now, he will be handling all the departments of Genesis Motors Australia comprising sales, aftersales, marketing, and retail development.
In 2020, the brand is intended to launch two new models- the all-new G80 limousine to stand against Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5 Series, and the first-ever SUV of the firm GV80.
Lederer said, "I am excited to be joining Genesis, and very much look forward to the challenge of establishing Korea’s first true luxury automotive brand here in Australia. Our first electric vehicle is also on the horizon, and our goal is to eventually offer alternative propulsion in all segments of our product portfolio. With such a diverse range of impressive new products it really is an exciting time to be joining the brand."
Genesis officially came to Australia in June this year and has only one authorized dealer till now i.e. Genesis Studio Sydney. As per the VFACTS data, the firm has sold around 90 vehicles including G70 and G80 sedan lineup till October 31. So let’s see how things move in the Australian division after getting the new boss. Stay tuned to Zigwheels Australia for further updates.
