Check out the new 2020 Lexus LC500 Convertible
The luxury carmaker Lexus showcased LC500 drop-top car at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show recently. This is considered as the brand’s third convertible car in the history of three decades. However, the previous two- SC430 and IS Convertible were not that eye-catching but LC500 looks gorgeous. It is expected to arrive in the country during the second half of 2020.
The model is equipped with a soft top that retracts in 15 seconds at the speed of 50 kmph. Lexus engineers have done a great job in designing the roof. It shows no wrinkles and looks pretty polished when it is raised. The front of the roof is made up of magnesium and rear suspension bracing is molded in aluminium with an intention to make it lightweight. Also, the whole body has gone through the extra-bracing to improve chassis rigidity.
LC500 Convertible is powered by the same 5.0-liter V-8 engine as the LC500 coupe, generates 477 PS of power and 540 Nm of torque. Drive is sent to the rear wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission. The firm claims the run of 0-100 kmph in 4.7 seconds. If we talk about the hybrid model constituting a V-6 and a pair of electric motors, the brand has not mentioned it for the convertible yet.
Inside the cabin, the model undergoes plenty of changes including lots of soft, two-tone leather upholstery. The air-conditioning system has been upgraded to adjust the temperature automatically at the time of the up and down of the roof. The rest of the cabin features are similar to the coupe model.
Speaking of the LC500 Convertible color scheme, it will be offered in Morphic Blue color tone shown in the images. The availability is limited to only 300 units for now. And most importantly LC500 Convertible price, no information has been released yet. Though we can expect a higher figure than the LC500 coupe price, which starts at $189,642 (before on-road costs).
