2020 Mercedes-AMG GLS63 & GLE63 S get a mild-hybrid V8

At the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show, Mercedes-AMG has bought out the 2020 GLE63 and GLS63 S models. The all-new 2020 GLE63 and GLS63 S models now feature a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that works in conjunction with a mild-hybrid system. In addition to the 611 hp of maximum power and a peak torque of 850 Nm produced by the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, the starter-alternator provides the new Mercedes-AMGs with another 21 hp and 250 Nm. Then it is the Mercedes-AMG’s nine-speed automatic transmission along with the 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system that sends the power to all four wheels.

Yes, the 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system also sports fully variable torque distribution. Coming on to the performance figures, the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S and GLS 63 are capable of doing a 0-100 kmph run in 3.8 seconds and 4.2 seconds, respectively. Both of the Mercedes-AMG GLE63 S and GLS63 also feature an adjustable ride experience thanks to the electronic locking rear differential and adjustable damping and air suspension. While the GLS63 comes with Sport and Sport+ modes, the GLE63 S, on the other hand, gets an additional Race mode.

The outside of both of the Mercedes-AMG GLE63 S and GLS63 is bestowed by various AMG elements and other trendy peculiarities like a large Panamericana grille, beefy bonnet, chunky alloy wheels which be as big as 23-inch, stylish front and rear bumpers, and much more.

On the inside, enhancing the experience for the occupants are Nappa leather seats with AMG upholstery, three-spoke AMG steering wheel with powertrain controls, and AMG sports displays which display various readings such as g-force metre, specialised engine data, and lap timing.

Australian masses will be able to book one for them by the second quarter of 2020. While Mercedes-AMG will start delivering the GLE63 S by the third quarter, the GLS63 will land in your parking lot only by the end of 2020.
