2020 Haval H2 is a mildly updated SUV starting at $22,900
Haval has introduced the 2020 model of its entry-level compact family SUV H2. The updates come in the form some mild design revisions and a longer list of equipment onboard. For starters, the 2020 Haval H2 comes sporting a new all-chrome grille with wide vertical slats and a hexagonal enclosure. This new grille is reminiscent of the one that the automaker has fitted on the Chinese H2 Blue Label and the Ford Escape.
The 2020 Haval H2 is set to be offered in two different variants, namely Premium and Lux. Speaking of the 2020 Haval H2 Premium variant, the base model of the compact family SUV comes with keyless entry & start, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, reverse parking sensors with a rearview camera, shark fin antenna, steering mounted controls for Bluetooth & cruise control, electronic parking brake, fabric upholstery, six-way manually adjustable driver's seat, 60:40 split rear seat, four-way manually adjustable passenger seat, rain-sensing wipers, and much more.
The Lux variant, on the other hand, benefits from additional equipment like a sunroof, LED headlamps, ambient cabin lighting, six-way electrically adjustable driver seat, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and Premium Eco-Leather upholstery. The all-new Apple CarPlay connectivity is, fortunately, standard across the lineup. Moving on to the stuff under the hood of the 2020 Haval H2, the Chinese SUV houses a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol-powered engine that generates 149 hp of maximum power and a peak torque of 210 Nm. The power is then sent to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. There are also different driving modes like Standard, Snow, and Economy.
As far as the safety of the occupants is concerned, the 2020 Haval gets an array of safety features like six SRS airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), Collision fuel-off system, automatic collision unlocking function, speed-sensing central door lock, and ISOFIX child seat fixing device. On top of that, the SUV also flaunts a five-star ANCAP safety rating.
While you can get yourself a 2020 Haval H2 Premium for $22,900, the updated Haval H2 Lux is up for grabs at $25,990. In case you are okay with a marginally smaller list of features and would like to drive a six-speed manual, you can also go for the run-out Haval H2 City trim that retails at $19,990 drive-away.
