2020 Genesis GV80 surfaces again over the internet
Genesis showcased its conceptual SUV back in 2017. Following the preview, the excitement in the automobile space regarding the arrival of the concept's production model has increased many folds. But since then many have multiple leaks already concerning the automaker's first-ever SUV, there is little left to be known about the GV80 for the automobile devotees. Just a couple days after a leaked that included some blurry images of the Genesis GV80, another set has leaked.
The latest leak comes courtesy of a Korean website and reveals both the front and rear faces of the Genesis GV80. Also, some images are showing off the steering wheel, gear console, touchscreen infotainment screen, and other interior bits & pieces of the SUV. As for the location of the images, the Genesis GV80 in the leaked images seems to be inside of Hyundai production facility.
At the front end, we see the SUV sporting a large & wide chrome pentagonal grille. Then there are the two-tier headlamps and taillamps providing the Genesis GV80 with a unique, muscular, and an attractive look. Furthermore, the wide & slim dual exhaust outlets at the rear further enhance the sporty quotient.
Speaking of the interior images, the centre console houses the climate controls, gear selector knob, and infotainment system controls. There is also a wide touchscreen infotainment system stacked at the centre of the dashboard. Another image reveals the classic-looking two-spoke steering wheel with various audio and cruise controls. While there is no substantial information regarding the mechanicals on the Genesis GV80, the SUV is said to be powered by two petrol and one diesel engine depending on the markets.
The petrol-powered mills include a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder unit with 307 hp and a 3.5-litre turbo V6 with 384 hp and 529 Nm. The diesel-fed motor, on the other hand, is a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 that produces 281 hp of maximum power and 588 Nm of peak torque. Reports also suggest that the Genesis GV80 will be offered with both front-wheel and rear-wheel drive options.
